Rome and the Christians - Story of the World Vol 1 Ch 39

Story of the World Vol 1 Ch 39
Rome and the Christians

During Augustus Caesar's reign in Rome, the people loved him. He was a just and good ruler whom the army obeyed and respected.
After Augustus Caesar died, Rome saw rulers that were cruel to their subjects.  They became richer and spent more and more money on themselves, while the rest of Rome became poorer and poorer.  One of the worst emperors was Nero, everyone who disagreed with him was killed.
Runaway slaves, criminals, and Christians were sent to fight wild animals as punishments.  It was a crime to be a Christian because they would not sacrifice to the Emperor and would not bow down to the Emperor.

Disclaimer:  I try to choose videos appropriate for children but at times I may miss something. Nero did a lot of disturbing acts, please view videos before showing them to your children.
