The Medes and the Persians (700-525 bce)
Chapter 21 tells us of a great king name Cyrus who lived in Persia or what we know today as Iran. Cyrus was able to united the Medes and the Persians. Instead of feeling like they had been conquered, the Medes felt as if Cyrus was treating them kindly because allowed them to stay in their own homes and some Media noblemen to have some power in his new empire.
